ĐỨC GIÊSU CHỮA NGƯỜI BỊ QUỈ ÁM Ở GIÊ-RA-SA.

Tin mừng Chúa GiêSu KiTô theo Thánh Mác-Cô, chương 5, đoạn từ câu (1) đến câu (20). 

Ðức Giêsu và các môn đệ sang tới bờ bên kia Biển Hồ, vùng đất của dân Ghêrasa. Người vừa ra khỏi thuyền, thì từ đám mồ mả, có một kẻ bị thần ô uế ám liền ra đón Người. Anh này thường sống trong đám mồ mả và không ai có thể trói anh ta lại được, dầu phải dùng đến cả xiềng xích. Thật vậy, nhiều lần anh bị gồng cùm và bị xiềng xích, nhưng anh đã bẻ gãy xiềng xích, và đập tan gông cùm. Và không ai có thể kiềm chế anh được. Suốt đêm ngày, anh ta cứ ở trong đám mồ mả và trên núi đồi, tru tréo và lấy đá đập vào mình. Thấy Ðức Giêsu tự đàng xa, anh ta chạy đến bái lạy Người và kêu lớn tiếng rằng: "Lạy ông Giêsu, Con Thiên Chúa Tối Cao, chuyện tôi can gì đến ông? Nhân danh Thiên Chúa, tôi van ông đừng hành hạ tôi!". Thật vậy, Ðức Giêsu, đã bảo nó: "Thần ô uế kia, xuất khỏi người này!". Người hỏi nó: "Tên ngươi là gì?" Nó thưa: "Tên tôi là đạo binh, vì chúng tôi đông lắm." Nó khẩn khoản nài xin Người đừng đuổi chúng ra khỏi vùng ấy. Ở đó có một bầy heo rất đông đang ăn bên sườn núi. Ðám thần ô uế nài xin Người rằng: "Xin sai chúng tôi đến nhập vào những con heo kia." Người cho phép. Chúng xuất khỏi người đó và nhập vào bầy heo. Cả bầy heo - chừng hai ngàn con - từ trên sườn núi lao xuống biển và chết ngộp dưới đó. Các kẻ chăn heo bỏ chạy, loan tin trong thành và thôn xóm. Thiên hạ đến xem việc gì đã xảy ra. Họ đến cùng Ðức Giêsu và thấy kẻ bị quỷ ám ngồi đó, ăn mặc hẳn hoi và trí khôn tỉnh táo - chính người này đã bị đạo binh quỷ nhập vào. Họ phát sợ. Những người chứng kiến đã kể lại cho họ nghe việc đã xảy ra thế nào cho người bị quỷ ám và chuyện bầy heo. Bấy giờ họ lên tiếng nài xin Người rời khỏi vùng đất của họ.

Khi Người xuống thuyền, thì kẻ trước kia đã bị quỷ ám nài xin cho được ở với Người. Nhưng Người không cho phép, Người bảo: "Anh cứ về nhà với thân nhân, và loan tin cho họ biết mọi điều Chúa đã làm cho anh, và Người đã thương anh như thế nào." Anh ta ra đi và bắt đầu rao truyền trong miền Thập Tỉnh tất cả những gì Ðức Giêsu đã làm cho anh. Ai nấy đều kinh ngạc.

MARK 5,1-20.

Jesus and the disciples reached the territory of the Gerasenes on the other side of the lake, and when he disembarked, a man with an unclean spirit at once came out from the tombs towards him. The man lived in the tombs and no one could secure him any more, even with a chain, because he had often been secured with fetters and chains but had snapped the chains and broken the fetters, and no one had the strength to control him. All night and all day, among the tombs and in the mountains, he would howl and gash himself with stones. Catching sight of Jesus from a distance, he ran up and fell at his feet and shouted at the top of his voice, 'What do you want with me, Jesus, son of the Most High God? In God's name do not torture me!' For Jesus had been saying to him, 'Come out of the man, unclean spirit.' Then he asked, 'What is your name?' He answered, 'My name is Legion, for there are many of us.' And he begged him earnestly not to send them out of the district. Now on the mountainside there was a great herd of pigs feeding, and the unclean spirits begged him, 'Send us to the pigs, let us go into them.' So he gave them leave. With that, the unclean spirits came out and went into the pigs, and the herd of about two thousand pigs charged down the cliff into the lake, and there they were drowned. The men looking after them ran off and told their story in the city and in the country round about; and the people came to see what had really happened. They came to Jesus and saw the demoniac sitting there -- the man who had had the legion in him -- properly dressed and in his full senses, and they were afraid. And those who had witnessed it reported what had happened to the demoniac and what had become of the pigs. Then they began to implore Jesus to leave their neighbourhood. 

As he was getting into the boat, the man who had been possessed begged to be allowed to stay with him. Jesus would not let him but said to him, 'Go home to your people and tell them all that the Lord in his mercy has done for you.' So the man went off and proceeded to proclaim in the Decapolis all that Jesus had done for him. And everyone was amazed.

MARC 5,1-20.

Jésus et ses disciples arrivèrent sur l'autre rive de la mer, au pays des Géraséniens. Et aussitôt que Jésus eut débarqué, vint à sa rencontre, des tombeaux, un homme possédé d'un esprit impur: il avait sa demeure dans les tombes et personne ne pouvait plus le lier, même avec une chaîne, car souvent on l'avait lié avec des entraves et avec des chaînes, mais il avait rompu les chaînes et brisé les entraves, et personne ne parvenait à le dompter. Et sans cesse, nuit et jour, il était dans les tombes et dans les montagnes, poussant des cris et se tailladant avec des pierres. Voyant Jésus de loin, il accourut, se prosterna devant lui et cria d'une voix forte: "Que me veux-tu, Jésus, fils du Dieu Très-Haut? Je t'adjure par Dieu, ne me tourmente pas!" Il lui disait en effet: "Sors de cet homme, esprit impur!" Et il l'interrogeait: "Quel est ton nom?" Il dit: "Légion est mon nom, car nous sommes beaucoup." Et il le suppliait instamment de ne pas les expulser hors du pays. Or il y avait là, sur la montagne, un grand troupeau de porcs en train de paître. Et les esprits impurs supplièrent Jésus en disant: "Envoie-nous vers les porcs, que nous y entrions." Et il le leur permit. Sortant alors, les esprits impurs entrèrent dans les porcs et le troupeau se précipita du haut de l'escarpement dans la mer, au nombre d'environ 2.000, et ils se noyaient dans la mer. Leurs gardiens prirent la fuite et rapportèrent la nouvelle à la ville et dans les fermes; et les gens vinrent pour voir qu'est-ce qui s'était passé. Ils arrivent auprès de Jésus et ils voient le démoniaque assis, vêtu et dans son bon sens, lui qui avait eu la Légion, et ils furent pris de peur. Les témoins leur racontèrent comment cela s'était passé pour le possédé et ce qui était arrivé aux porcs. Alors ils se mirent à prier Jésus de s'éloigner de leur territoire.

Comme il montait dans la barque, l'homme qui avait été possédé le priait pour rester en sa compagnie. Il ne le lui accorda pas, mais il lui dit: "Va chez toi, auprès des tiens, et rapporte-leur tout ce que le Seigneur a fait pour toi dans sa miséricorde." Il s'en alla donc et se mit à proclamer dans la Décapole tout ce que Jésus avait fait pour lui, et tout le monde était dans l'étonnement.
