Tin mừng Chúa Giê-Su theo thánh Gio-An, chương 1, từ câu (35) đến câu (42).

Hôm sau, ông Gio-An lại đang đứng với hai người trong nhóm môn đệ của ông. Thấy Ðức Giêsu đi ngang qua, ông lên tiếng nói: "Ðây là Chiên Thiên Chúa". Hai môn đệ nghe ông nói, liền đi theo Ðức Giêsu. Ðức Giêsu quay lại, thấy các ông đi theo mình, thì hỏi: "Các anh tìm gì thế?". Họ đáp: "Thưa Rápbi (nghĩa là thưa Thầy), Thầy ở đâu?". Người bảo họ: "Ðến mà xem". Họ đã đến xem chỗ Người ở, và ở lại với Người ngày hôm ấy. Lúc đó vào khoảng bốn giờ chiều.

Ông Anrê, anh ông Simon Phêrô, là một trong hai người đã nghe ông Gioan nói và đi theo Ðức Giêsu. Trước hết, ông gặp em mình là ông Simon và nói: "Chúng tôi đã gặp Ðấng Mêsia" (nghĩa là Ðấng Kitô). Rồi ông dẫn em mình đến gặp Ðức Giêsu. Ðức Giêsu nhìn ông Simon và nói: "Anh là Simon, con ông Gio-An, anh sẽ được gọi là Kêpha" (tức là Phêrô).

JOHN 1,35-42.

The next day as John stood there again with two of his disciples, Jesus went past, and John looked towards him and said, 'Look, there is the lamb of God'. And the two disciples heard what he said and followed Jesus. Jesus turned round, saw them following and said, 'What do you want?' They answered, 'Rabbi' -- which means Teacher -- 'where do you live?'. He replied, 'Come and see'; so they went and saw where he lived, and stayed with him that day. It was about the tenth hour. One of these two who became followers of Jesus after hearing what John had said was Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter. The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother and say to him, 'We have found the Messiah' -- which means the Christ- and he took Simon to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, 'You are Simon son of John; you are to be called Cephas' -- which means Rock.

JEAN 1,35-42.

Le lendemain, Jean se tenait là, de nouveau, avec deux de ses disciples. Regardant Jésus qui passait, il dit: "Voici l'agneau de Dieu". Les deux disciples entendirent ses paroles et suivirent Jésus. Jésus se retourna et, voyant qu'ils le suivaient, leur dit: "Que cherchez-vous?" Ils lui dirent: "Rabbi - ce qui veut dire Maître --, où demeures-tu?". Il leur dit: "Venez et voyez." Ils vinrent donc et virent où il demeurait, et ils demeurèrent auprès de lui ce jour-là. C'était environ la dixième heure. André, le frère de Simon-Pierre, était l'un des deux qui avaient entendu les paroles de Jean et suivi Jésus. Il rencontre en premier lieu son frère Simon et lui dit: "Nous avons trouvé le Messie" - ce qui veut dire Christ. Il l'amena à Jésus. Jésus le regarda et dit: "Tu es Simon, le fils de Jean; tu t'appelleras Céphas" - ce qui veut dire Pierre.
